years of experience, and in correlation with recent research findings, CID
has designed its preschool program to foster the global development of
children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Components of this successful program include speech,

designed to foster the development of the whole child, a strong focus on
emerging literacy, integration of hearing children to foster pragmatic
language development and theme-based
learning. Additional program
components include assessment practices, occupational therapy and mainstream
support. This workshop will provide teachers and administrators practical
information with which to design or enhance their own preschool programs for
children learning to listen and talk. Presenters will explain the
rationale behind the development of the CID pre-k program and its success.
Participants will have an opportunity to observe CID's program and network
