You Can Help a Deaf Child!    LEAVE A LEGACY

CID is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving deaf and hard of hearing children and their families. We rely heavily on donors to support our world-renowned auditory-oral school where deaf children learn to listen, talk, read and succeed in a predominantly hearing world, without the need for sign language.

At CID, caring, master's level teachers to make optimal use of highly individualized educational methods, multiple disciplines and today's sophisticated hearing technologies to transform the lives of children.

CID students graduate with the skills necessary to attend schools with hearing children in their own local elementary, middle and high schools, where they typically do well both academically and socially. Most go to college and many pursue professional careers. Meet some CID graduates.

In a given year, the CID school serves up to 150 families. CID turns no hearing-impaired school candidate away for financial reasons. Most of our families receive significant assistance made possible by the continual support of generous people and businesses in the community.

CID gratefully accepts many kinds of gifts, including cash, securities and real estate as well as planned gifts in the form of bequests or other planned giving vehicles. If you're thinking about giving, ask your lawyer or financial advisor to help you identify planned giving opportunities that may provide tax deductions and other benefits for you and your family.

CID's tuition rate is about half  what it actually costs to provide a CID education, about $54,000 a year per 3- to 12-year-old child.

Most families of CID school children receive significant tuition assistance and all benefit from the continued generosity of our many friends in the St. Louis community, across the country and around the world.

Thank you for your support!
